Cate’s Story
Some of my unique experiences growing up include living in the rural countryside on a Christmas tree farm. Free time was centered around books – reading, writing, playing out scenes from what I’d read. I also remember frequently losing electricity and water due to snow or storms. I was taught extreme Christian fundamentalist lessons through homeschooling. This all pushed me toward creativity and imagination: seeking a world where I belonged and would be transformed through magic, adventure, and acceptance.
Publishing and Beyond
My first published book was Traitors of the Black Crown in 2020. The sequel Defenders of the Black Crown was released in 2021. I was also featured in Elixir: Stories of Hope and Healing.
